Deewane and Deewana

Well, I'm pursuing my recent Ajay Devgan crush, which began with Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and was clinched with Chori Chori. So I rented Deewane and was happy as can be... Until the end. I'm sorry, but Urmila Matondkar had very little going on, in my opinion. Mahima Chaudhry was so much more appealing! I just didn't understand why they ended the movie that way. It was highly disappointing. And I don't know what I think of the last-minute switcheroo they tried to pull. Kind of sketchy.

On the other hand, Deewana was the exact reverse! All during the first half of the movie I was laughing out loud and wondering how ANYone could have cast that main guy as the lead!!! So I was pretty happy when Shahrukh showed up in the middle. The second half of Deewana was great!

Bollywood continued

So, After being introduced to Bollywood in Prague, I returned home to California and joined Netflix. My queue is out of control, and more than half of it is Bollywood movies.

First I want to ask a question that came up for me after watching a few older Aamir Khan movies: Who the hell was responsible for his TERRIBLE outfits in those movies?? I mean, have you seen Rangeela????? It's very upsetting. He is wearing shirts TIED AT THE WAIST!!!??? Over NET shirts!!! Where did they even find net shirts in the 90s????? And that insane popeye hat....oh Aamir. It's a crime, frankly. I'm lucky I saw Dil Chahta Hai first, or I would never have been able to bear it.
